OK, the same announcement...
This time with the correct date: Tuesday March 17!
Just a note to Eugene-area folks: As part of the exhibit I have on display through April at the Inn at the 5th, I’ll be showing and talking about the method I use for making hand colored black and white photos at a free demonstration in the Art Bar at the Gordon Hotel on Tuesday afternoon, March 17. (That is the correct day of the week, not Wednesday, as in the original email!)
People often don’t understand what hand-colored photos are all about. This isn’t colorization using AI or Photoshop; instead it’s an artistic medium that’s two centuries old. It doesn’t involve computer technology. I start with plain black and white photos on watercolor paper, and then sit down (or stand up) with a brush and acrylic paints, adding color one brush stroke at a time.
I’ll be bringing about 20 black and white photos to color as I explain how the process works. You’re invited to drop by and watch, ask questions, and kibbitz to your heart’s content. Finished pieces will be for sale, unframed, at very reasonable prices.
The demonstration will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, in the Art Bar at the Gordon Hotel, 555 Oak Street.
I hope to see you there!
